Andrew Borghesani is currently attending Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania studying music education. As a performer, he studies tuba with Ronald Demkee and is a member of the Moravian College Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Greyhound Marching Band, Star City Brass Quintet, and is a member of the Nazareth Area Community Band. As a vocalist, Andy has performed with the Moravian College Choir, Five of Five a-cappella group, and recently participated in a master class with world-famous mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. In addition, Andy was the 2008 recipient of the Steven K. VanAuken Memorial Prize in Music Performance.

As a composer, Andy currently studies with Dr. Larry Lipkis and has worked with such groups as the Nazareth High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, various small ensembles, and is currently working on a commissioned piece to be performed at Jason Cote’s senior recital next spring at Moravian. His piece Adagio and Scherzo for clarinet and piano was recently premiered at the Moravian College Composer’s Concert. He also is composer and arranger for Star City Brass. As a conductor, he has worked with the Nazareth High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Band and recently was Instrumental Director for Insomniak Theatre Company’s production of Nunsense II and will conduct the orchestra for their summer production of Steven Sondheim’s Assassins.

Andy is a staff member with the Whitehall High School Marching Zephyr Band serving as a marching and brass technician. In addition, in the fall he will serve as drum major for the Moravian College Greyhound Marching Band. He is a member of MENC, PMEA, Delta Omicron, and the National Band Association.
